The chapel on Valaam.
According to the assignment, it was supposed to build a small chapel for pilgrims. Next to or in conjunction with the chapel, there should be a recreation area under a canopy overlooking the lake. The chapel is located on the site of the demolished "customs house" (the foundation remains of it, its approximate size is 12x6 m).The long (northern) side of the foundation is turned towards the lake, and the southern side is turned towards the pine forest.
The chapel should not be high and argue with nearby objects: St. Nicholas Skete (height about 17 m), the Chapel of the Valaam Icon of the Mother of God (15 m).
The idea of the project is to make a chapel-hearth. The chapel, on the benches around which pilgrims gather. In the project, the foundation remaining from the "customs house" was fully used.
